Enrollment Eligibility:
- All eligible individuals must have been born within the Kahtenuaka Territories* or be the child or grandchild of an individual born in the Kahtenuaka Territories through which direct biological Tuscarora lineal descent is traced. Exceptions can be made for those born in another established Tuscarora community, such as Tuscarora Nation, NY, and Six Nations, ON, or born during family military service.
- *Kahtenuaka Territories: Traditional territories of “The Nation” (Kahtenuaka Territories) include but not are limited to the Roanoke River Basin, the Neuse River Basin, The Trent River Basin, The Tar River Basin, The Cape Fear River Basin, Lake Mattamuskeet Territory, Pee Dee River Basin, and archeological sites and traditionally occupied lands located in between throughout the Coastal Plains of present-day North Carolina and South Carolina.
How Do I Enroll?
METHOD 1 - PRE-EXISTING MEMBERSHIP
Those individuals must be current or former enrolled members, or descendants of an enrolled member of an Eligible Tuscarora Community, having enrolled prior to December 31, 2024. The community must have been founded prior to December 31, 2013, to be considered an Eligible Tuscarora Community.
METHOD 2 - DIRECT BIOLOGICAL LINEAL DESCENT
Individuals must meet all of the following three (3) criteria:
Those individuals who can, through verified records, demonstrate direct biological lineal descent from the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtenuaka Territories’ officially designated individual Progenitors.
Two (2) or more American Indian grandparents who are:
enrolled citizens of the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtenuaka Territories,
direct biological lineal descendants of the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtenuaka Territories’ officially designated individual Progenitors, and/or
identified as American Indian, Native American, or First Nations in official federal or state government documentation.
Applicants must produce official federal or state government documentation identifying themselves as American Indian, Native American, or First Nations.
METHOD 3 - BLOOD RELATION AND COMMUNITY BELONGING
Individuals must meet all of the following four (4) criteria:
Those individuals who can, through verified records, demonstrate a direct blood (familial; biological) relationship with a current or past duly enrolled citizen of the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtenuaka Territories.
Two (2) or more American Indian grandparents who are
enrolled citizens of the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtenuaka Territories,
direct biological lineal descendants of the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtenuaka Territories’ officially designated individual Progenitors, and/or
identified as American Indian, Native American, or First Nations in official federal or state government documentation
- Those individuals who, through verified records, through verified records, demonstrate community belonging with the Tuscarora Indians of Kahtenuaka Territories, an Eligible Tuscarora Community (having been founded prior to December 31, 2013), or a related federal or state recognized tribal community located within *Kahtenuaka Territories.
Applicants must produce official federal or state government documentation identifying themselves as American Indian, Native American, or First Nations.

- Complete and Submit the Ancestry Chart(s) as outlined in the Application Form. Click Here to Access the Ancestry Chart(s).
- After Submission: Email all Required Documents to tiktoffice@gmail.com
- Partial or Incomplete Applications will be Rejected
